These Golden Banana turnovers are a warm, flaky pastry filled with a sweet, caramelized banana and maple syrup mixture, then topped with fresh banana slices for extra flavor and texture. Finished with a dusting of cinnamon sugar, these pastries are perfect for breakfast, an afternoon treat, or a simple yet indulgent dessert. The addition of fresh banana slices enhances the texture and flavor, bringing even more natural sweetness to this flaky, golden pastry. Serve them fresh out of the oven for a warm, comforting treat!

- 4 ripe bananas (3 for filling, 1 for slicing)
- ¼ cup real maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling

- Egg Wash & Topping
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash.
- Brush the egg wash over the pastries, then sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture (combine the cinnamon and granulated sugar beforehand).
- Bake
- Place pastries on a lined baking sheet and bake in a 400°F oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Serve
- Enjoy warm with a dollop of homemade whipped cream or a drizzle of warm maple syrup.

Image shows the pastry folded in a traditional turnover style. My husband loves them like this. You can also fold in the corners to make them more of a “boat” style.
Enjoy!
